What You Will Need for General Notarizations?

Not sure what you'll need to bring? No sweat! Every signer must show a valid (not expired) photo identification. All identification must contain a photo, a physical description, a signature and a serial number. For certain notarizations, if you have no valid identification, you may have someone vouch for your identity. Oregon recognizes the following types of identification:

Driver License (exp. up to three years)

State Issued ID Card (Senior ID, Under 18 ID)

U.S. Passport

U.S. Military ID Card

Mexican or Canadian Driver License

Foreign Passport

Every signer must demonstrate a willingness to sign the documents without coercion. The signer must also be aware of what they are signing and understand the significance of the transaction. Documents cannot be notarized if there is any cognitive impairment.
